![]() ![]() ![]() One common problem in the past was that people didn't import the default key. There's no documentation, the setup script is in the /usr/share/doc/freenx-something directory, the setup script won't run properly unless you add /usr/lib/nx to your path before running it, etc. It's been broken for me for awhile, and I've just stopped checking. The big thing is usually importing the default key into the client. I have a page at that goes through the setup. ![]() Ah, I see I just gave up and used the nomachines version, which has documentation and works out of the box. Sigh, I'm trying to remember how I fixed this. The reverse is true too, the Fedora setup is simply done poorly, and the Fedora documentation is also pretty useless. The documentation on the site is useless. Yeah, NX's support for Fedora is pretty bad if you've upgraded from Fedora 4. Last edited by jlynker 10th January 2009 at 10:08 AM. If there's an alternative to NxClient, happy to consider it - but Nx seems to be the standard. This is my first Fedora server and I really need to run it headless. My apologies for asking here in Fedora rather than Nx, but I've searched their site and it seems light on support for FreeNX - plus, I got nx working on a ubuntu server - no problem. ![]() Where can I find these parameters and a link to a reference on how to adjust them? I tried running key-gen and applying the key to the client, but no luck. Since it seems to happen just as the Negotiating Link Parameters is occurring. I believe this has to do with establishing an encryption key, but not sure. Services and Environment tabs are basically blank. tried disabling encryption, compression, direct draw and deferred screen updates. No check boxes are checked - disable encryption, disable zlib compression, http proxy, grab kb, disable direct draw, disabled deferred screen updates. Unix, GNOME, LAN, 800圆00, use custom settings is not checked Host is listed by it's static IP, port 22 Please check the state of your network connection. The connection with the remote server was shut down. Logging in with nxclient, it shows in the message box: Running NxServer 3.3.0-8 (node and client installed) Fedora 10 installed from LiveCD, updates applied ![]()
